that every Team Mom/Dad should know...

PYLGSA is an organization for girls, run solely by parent volunteers. Please consider how you might help out the league by volunteering for one of its many committees. Click on Board of Directors Button to see a list of Committees

There are many jobs involved in running a softball team. Please be ready to help your daughter have a fulfilling season by helping out wherever needed. In order to help the managers and coaches focus on running the practices and games, parents are asked to share additional job duties:

TEAM PARENTS' RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinating uniform pick up and distribution

  • Making or purchasing and transporting team banners

  • Purchasing additional equipment

  • Coordinating fund raisers

  • Planning team parties

  • Distributing game schedules and rosters

  • Scheduling Snack Bar Duty

  • Scorekeeping

  • Performing field service before and after games

  • Picking up all trash after practices and games

  • Emptying trash cans and replacing trash bags

  • Warming up pitchers and helping with batting practice

  • Ensuring that at least one female over 18 years of age attends all practices and games.

One person should not be expected to take on all these jobs. It works well when one person serves as a "Team Mom" or "Team Dad" in order to coordinate these job assignments. It makes for a stronger team and provides the girls with a good example of teamwork functioning well.
